Fritz 9 has improved a lot of positions that older Fritzes (versions 6, 7, 8) don’t understand - for example see http://www.vlasak.biz/fritz8.htm#positions. But it’s not easy to show some any opposite case. Here is the best I know - a beautiful Pogosyanc study, Shakmatnoe Obozrenie, 1983. [D] 4R3/3r2N1/8/1b6/6k1/8/8/2K3B1 w - - 0 1 1. Rg8 Bc4! 2. Ne6+ Kf5 3. Nd4+ Rxd4! 4. Rf8+ Ke4 5. Re8+ Kd3 6. Re3 mate. [D] 6R1/3r4/4N3/8/2b3k1/8/8/2K3B1 b - - 0 2 There is a cook 2... Kf3!! 3. Rf8+ Kg2! 4. Nc5 Rf7! 5. Rg8+ Kh1! with forced material trade. It was found by Marc Bourzutschky, but in principle the EG study world didn’t want to wait for his 7 men databases. Fritz 8 indicates the cook immediately, but Fritz 9 doesn’t.
