Its high time we had something like this. I much prefer the concept of bitbases to the tablebases anyway (sorry Eugene). Daniel: Its possible to do anything you can do with dlls on windows with shared object files on linux. I know because I had to port a program implemented as a tree of DLLs in windows to a tree of shared objects in linux at work ;) http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Program-Library-HOWTO/shared-libraries.html seems like a pretty good reference, but all you really need to know is: Compile source files with -fPIC Link with -shared and -rdynamic and name your output file X.so Open it inside linux with dlopen.
