I think chess for these players is a fight vs another human. Playing a machine is something else. A spectaculum just for the money. It doesn't affect the ELO rating. Looking at Ponomariovs c4 - just blocking the position - the early king walk - the blitz tempo - yes I would say that he was uninterested of the game.
