It is a legitimate shrink-wrapped European version, no tweaks, pokes, patches or illegal stuff. To find the CRC32 of your copy, just .zip or .rar it and activate the CRC32 column. I run it under its own F9 GUI, latest download from CB. My F9 chooses 39. .. N-c4 up to about 11 ply when it switches to 39. .. Qxg3+ and it sticks with that move for about 7 ply when it reverts to 39. .. N-c4 again, then back to the other choice. I tried with different hash settings, and also tried to create some hash image a little similar to what would have been in that machine by starting some ply earlier, but at no stage do I see 39. .. B-c2 considered best. Can anyone post something contradictory from their copy of Fritz9? And also the Fritz version (from Windows Explorer, right click on the file, then Properties, then Version). In- http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?463606 I read- "My Fritz 9 not only see's 39. ...Bc2 as a big mistake, but it states that Qxg3 was winning for black." I think that poster is a little inexact or inexperienced and simply means his F9 chose the queen exchange as better, though his words "big mistake" imply F9 showed (say in MV mode when analysing for black's 39th or after forcing that move and analysing for white's 40th move) that ..Bc2 was losing for black. Personally, I do not like .. Bc2 at all, and think it is a most serious error. But I doubt that any program can see ahead that far as to the Q-side consequences Can anyone else throw any light on this too? Best, A.S.
