There are some engines (Gandalf 6 comes to mind) that need to have an empty
book open in the Chessbase GUI for it's own book to function. The details are a
bit hazy to me right now, but I do know that I created "empty.ctg" and use it
when I want to play against Gandalf with own book. I think you can do the
opposite as well - rename Gandalf's book and it will then use the GUI book.
