This memory keeped by WIN98, added to the one of other programs that too keeps the RAM after the boot, can almost arrive, in some cases, after chessprogram run, 32Mb(!), and the program does not function. Example happened with my friend, in which computer had 32Mb of RAM and he had to incapacitate some programs that keeped RAM, to run Fritz5.32 with small hashtable. My conclusion is that, to run a chessprogram for windows in WIN 98, it is preferable to have around 64Mb of RAM, not forgetting that the program, for better permormance, needs eventually greaters hashtables." I wrote this have 40 days and I was srprised with his born. It tries to incapacitate some programs that occupy memory RAM after the boot of the Win98 and that they are not important for you.
