Subject: Looking for beta testers for my chess program

Hello all,

my program is almost ready, I am planning to distribute it as feeware. Before
doing so, I would like to get help by voluntary beta testers, because most
likely I am unable to find some serious bugs myself.

About my program:
- called "Der Bringer" (this is german, kind of german slang), written in C++
- runs on Windows 95, Windows NT (and most likely on Windows 98, not tested)
- graphical user interface (in german, but use "Ansicht-Sprache-Englisch" to
switch to english)
- it is *NOT* a crafty clone (not strong enough to be taken for one)
- conventional board representation (10 * 12 squares), bitboards for pawns
- hashtables, editable openingbook, read / write PGN, read EPD,
player-player-mode
- winboard (use "/winboard", without quotes, in winboard.ini) and autoplayer
support
- logfile (bringer.log)
- some standard features

still missing:
- Help files still incomplete and only in german.
- support of english still incomplete
- documentation (many features are hard to use because of missing
docu./online-help)
- k-best-mode, copy-paste-FEN
- from a programmer's point of view: booklearning, tablebases, parallel search,
SEE, history heuristic, some endgame knowledge, much more...

What I hope to get from you:

All responses (positive/negative) are welcome.
Please report missing features and bugs to me. The most valuable responses are
of the following types:
- I do "this, this, and that" (as exactly as possible), and the program crashes.
:(
- The program plays a stupid move in "this position" / "positions of that kind".
- The program should have knowledge of xxx, it over-/underestimates yyy.
- Errors in the translation of the english interface

If you are interested, mail me (reubold@online.de), and I send you a copy of my
program.

Thanks for your help,
Gerrit Reubold
