Go up one level in this thread

Dear Djordje,

I read your post before it was deleted by the moderator - and actually replied
thanking you, but my "thank you" was deleted too as the thread disappeared.

You had posted to defend me against ridiculous accusations and insults.

So, "thank you".

The whole thread was a fiasco, started with the clear intention of libelling me
and trolling me. A number of people here appear to think they could abuse and
insult me as they wished.

I did not complain to a moderator, or bring the thread to the attention of a
moderator. To ignore barking is very easy for me.

However, such a thread is very disrespectful to general users of the board. The
subject is computer chess, and my posts (regrettable exceptions in 'this'
thread) are about precisely that.

However, the blatant abusing of me was noticed by a moderator (or maybe pointed
out by someone else), who did the right thing and deleted the thread root and
branch. My posts in that thread were naturally and correctly deleted too. I
should not have responded to the "oinking", but contrary to reports, I am human.
:)

In your deleted post, you complimented me on my analysis (and agreed with
another poster's acknowledgement of my superior "knowledge and expertise") as
evidenced in the message you pointed to, which was-

One may ask, why does this hostility against me arise?

The long and short of it is, I refrain from entering into subjective debate.
When I state something, it is usually on an objective matter, where the concepts
of "correct" and "incorrect" exist, or perhaps some more complex variation of
that.

When I see for certain that someone has erred on such a matter, I politely but
unambiguously point out the error. The wise man (one example here: Mr Uri Blass)
studies my reply carefully, and (as is clear from his posts) learns from it,
tests what I say independently, and recognises that I am correct.

Such adult conduct is, alas, not universal. Enough said. :)

That I do not respond to the other side's insults and abuse except with
restrained academic correction appears to enhance their symptoms; this is
undesirable for them but is, ultimately, a result of their own psyche.

If not for your lone brave voice of support I would not have bothered to
continue my corrections, but if you look at-
http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?463687
you may read some more helpful analysis and advice by me.

btw, re Hydra-Kasimdzhanov: other expert commentary is now published, and all of
it that I have read agrees with what I had previously published here. Galling
for some.

Best,

A.S.
