Hi Stephen,
Glancing through Toga's sourcefiles, in option.cpp I see following line:
static option_t Option[] = {
{ "Hash", true, "16", "spin", "min 4 max 1024", NULL },
So similarly to Fruit the limit would be 1024 Mb HT. See also Günther Simon's
post http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?463913
I don't believe a higher hashsetting could crash an engine, it simply would not
accept it, maybe in combination with Chessbase 8 your memory usage would be
possibly too high but that also seems unlikely, it would in theory only cause
diskswapping. Probably some other small bug! How about trying another interface?
CP? Shredder?
Just a small test Toga 1.1 running at the moment with 512 Mb Ht, seems to work
okay after 15 minutes but of course that is not overnight analysis
Have you tried different settings already with Toga or Fruit? Especially for
analysis I think that other settings might be tried for better analysis results?
