After
23. .. Rg8 24. Nc4
the diagram should have been-

In error, the diagram pasted in the original message is the position after what
I expected Fruit to play, 24. .. f5, and which I commented on in the narrative.

Similarly, after
24. .. g5 25. Ra2 Rc8
the diagram should have been-

[D}2r2kr1/p3pp1p/8/6p1/1PNQpP2/P6q/R6P/4KR2 w - - 0 26

Sorry for the errors, spotted by me as soon as the post came up.

I do find it impressive that Fruit avoided 24. .. f5, and played 24. .. g5, so
it probably merited a diagram. :)
