I believe you must modify the Fruit options settings, otherwise it automatically
uses its own book. To modify the settings: Open the Fruit options settings
window and delete the opening book in the top left column, which is named
"book.bin" if I recall correctly. (My Fruit engine is busy so I can't check it
right now.) Then Fruit should use whatever book is selected in the GUI.

At least it appears to work that way in my Shredder Classic 9.1 GUI when running
engine-engine matches. I haven't tested book usage in other operational modes
nor with a Chessbase GUI but presume they work the same.
