You can't ask for much more than to start off with a Najdorf Sicilian. In round one, the Star Diamond plays White and both sides decide they are going to take the gloves off. Since I don't regularly see the Najdorf in my games, I won't comment here except to say that the game seemed to seesaw a bit before finally getting to the end. Time control is game in 1 hour. After the 4-0 drubbing of the Lyon 68000, the Star Diamond now has an impressive string of 5 games going. Three more games against the Berlin Pro will give a good sense of just how strong the SD is.
