I guess that Kittinger has done similar to Lang and Schroeder these days (and Marty Hirsch!). He must recognize in testing that his program on full PC hardware is not competitive enough with the top commercial programs to warrant going through the dreaded production cycle with it. Ed Schroeder has probably said it best already (I don't recall exactly), but as good as his programs have always been, he doesn't need the pressure of competing for the top spot on the SSDF. Perhaps this is how it goes with Kittinger. I, for one, would also like to see a version of MChess still available. I was a big fan of it and bought several versions, but today I don't have a functioning copy still around. I think MChess is still worth having, even version 8 though it won't compete as is with the top programs today. Cheers, Chuck
