When A.S. wrote to you that >the last guy from Madras he had met on chessboard had been someone who (then or >formerly) became WC, didn't you hear a bell ring? I know I am a newcomer patzer here in CCC, but let me say what I think. There is no evidence that Mr.A.S. is Nigel Short. Anybody can say anything. He showed us just one of his games, indeed an interesting one. And why should he get an excessive amount of respect, even if he is N.S.? This forum is about Computer Chess. Did he more for computer chess than R.Hyatt, Ed Schroder, F.Letouzey or other programmers writing strong engines? Of course, it would be nice if super GMs were more often dropping in to show us some of their games against comps. On the other side, how do you know there are no other respectable members here just using meaningless alias names? I think, mods were doing a good job, not making exceptions with anybody. But hush! ... I thought for a moment that I heard an uproarious laughter somewhere in Scotland.... :) Robert
