Did you ever read a report on chessbase.com from Short? I did. And you will always find this somewhat special undertone that is so typical for these Brits. For centuries they perfectiononalised it to protect their leading power against the average folks. No doubt. But I can enjoy it as a variation of Shakespeare who also didn't speak like the average American. I like this high-nosed in format but understating in content. And above all his self-irony, did you miss it? On the other hand I agree with you that his single game couldn't PROVE something against FRUIT. But where did he claim that it did prove a lot?
