I like new programs/engines as well as anyone. I for one am glad to see Rybka on the scene. A possible refreshing change. But i have given you a best of 30 where Fritz 9 beat Rybka, including each and every game. Does that mean Fritz 9 is stronger- no. But it doesnt mean he isnt, either. Rybka as i stated before, has some serious late middle game and end game problems that are going to have to be addressed before i would think you could begin to place him at the top. It's just a gut feeling, but i have the idea that if i ran the match again, the results wouldnt be much different. Of course i am comparing total packages, not just engines. And no fast 5 min. or shorter blitz. Do i think he deserves a lot of praise at this point- hell yes. Do i think he deserves a whole forum page- i'm with Sarah on that one. So from my point of view he an extremely strong program, however is 0-1 in matches on my end. Until i see differently, i am not going to get quite as caught up in all the hoopla. Just an observation that will draw fire from all 4 directions, no doubt. Regards, George
