Sales will rely on goodwill and interest to a greater than usual extent. Both are clearly present at the moment and the author will clearly need a large helping of both if he is to succeed. Now is the time to release it. You may be being naive if you believe that software is normally only released when believed to be bug free. My major regret is that the program runs very badly on Celerons with 128 kb of L2 cache. However there is nothing that the author can or should do about that!
