The only questionable action that I am aware of that Vas made was to state at
the beginning that he was releasing an engine 50 to 150 Elo points stronger than
Shredder. He clearly believed (with good reason) that to be the case. However
openly stating it was in my opinion naive and counter productive.

As far as I know, subsequent events so far are in line with by the following
statements that he made.

a) He was developing an engine that he planned to sell shortly after the beta
was released.
b)He needed beta testers and to obtain them he would make the beta available for
a short time.
c)Whether or not you planned to beta test for him, you could keep the beta.

All of the hype that has appeared on this site has come spontaneously from
people who have downloaded the program and have chosen to comment on it It has
not come from Vas himself.

Assuming that the released beta is not time limited in which case I shall be
part of the lynch mob, I cannot see how anything after his initial approach to
CTF readers can be described as a “flagrant commercial exhortation”, would you
please explain how you came to that conclusion?
