Note that I do not think that Fruit probes too much and I see almost no np drop in analysis with fruit. If tablebases are not productive for fruit then the main reason for it may be some hash bug. Note that results of the CEGT may be misleading because by default all engines use the tablebases at the root because they do not play in 4 or 5 piece positions but the fritz gui plays there. Uri
