Hi Horst,

J9 does not have position learning. The only time you would need to turn ponder
off is when playing an engine match/tournament on a single cpu machine. The
option to turn ponder on/off will be shown when you start an engine match. At
this time you will also have the option of book learning on or off - this is
different to position learning which I think you are asking about above.
