it is true that rybka is only 30 points better (which is substantial). But what is striking is that this is only version 1 (not 9). Heck, it plays the endgame like like a labotomized crafty (i exagerate:)) and still is the best int he world...How strong will it be when the endgame is improved? what about version 2 and 3? What about when 64 bit processors are standard on computers? Does anybody really believe that fritz, shredder, and hiarchs are going to ever catch rybka? I predict that the rating difference will keep increasing (with maybe fruit keeping pace). Fritz will be left behind in the same way that crafty and rebel got left behind
