That is actually my proposal. The forum software is very well designed and feature rich (both for users and admins/moderators) without being hopelessly bloated. There is actually a surprising number of issues that arise when a migration like this is to be done properly. The more I work on the migration the better I realize that I will probably not have the required motivation to maintain this as an archive-only for a long period of time.
