I think it would be interesting to not know whether you are playing a computer
or human player. Plus I would guess that even when people play most of the
games, they are putting moves through their systems and when they come to a
point they are not sure about then they just see what move the computer
suggests, so maybe they are not playing the whole game but parts of it.

I think this is a wide spread practice, even though no one would admit to doing
it on here, I think it goes on.

I remember when I was seeing my girlfreind at the beggining, I gave her GNU
chess program. And Blitz interface for ICC. She was okay at chess but not great.
But one day she was playing a pretty good game. I was taking risks as usual to
pull of some pretty wonderful moves because she was never good at protecting her
peices. So on this day I was being none to worried and then all of a sudden she
had me in a corner. I went on to lose the game (the only game she ever beat me)
but she did, I found out after the game with the use of the chess program, she
played its moves.

So the story is, unless you want to go analyse every game you lose in order to
find out ifyou were cheated or not, I would say why bother if it is just one or
two games against someone. If you make a habit of losing to a certain person all
the time that you suspect is chaeting then fine do something about it. But it is
a chess server and it will never be stopped.

All it takes in some games is to pull off one killer move. And that could be the
only move the computer helps you with, So how will you ever know if the person
if being help a little by technology.

I say a server should try blending the two. That way some people will not
develope killer play against a certain computers because they will not know that
they are playing programs such as crafty and thus cannot exploit it. I know some
people who go on and play computers that they know are weak in certain areas and
get higher ratings that they really should not get to their own points, cause
they are beating a weakness in the program, which does not change.

I know there are Pros and cons to both sides, and I know it will not change from
what it is now. Thats why I only ever play chess on server against people I know
or use ICC to see live games that are telecast of Tournaments. Otherwise I play
computers.
