Hi all, I've finished a Noomen match between Hiarcs 10 and Glaurung 051213. The time control was 4+1, and the hardware an iMac G5 1.8 GHz. The final result was a devastating 76-24 victory for Hiarcs, with 60 wins, 32 draws and just 8 losses. This translates to an estimated rating difference of almost exactly 200 Elo points, which is very impressive. Glaurung Mainz, the last public version of my engine, has a CEGT rating of 2585. I think the current development version is somewhere between 20 and 50 points stronger. If this is correct, Hiarcs should end up somewhere around or slightly above 2800 on the CEGT list, which is in the same league as Rybka. Of course it is also possible that Hiarcs 10 is just a particularly difficult opponent for Glaurung, or that it is highly optimised for blitz levels. It will be interesting to see the results of other testers. Tord
