This isn't a precedent. The first engine I ever bought with no opening book was
Hiarcs 6 by Chessbase. They sent me a diskette with a text file explaining how
to isntall it and the engine files.
Anyhow, you seem to be overlooking the fact that he has clearly said it even had
bugs, and that in the future users could expect to receive upgrades. I would
presume that when an opening book has been prepared, this will also be made
available.
