Subject: adding predetermined moves in middle game to improve strength

One thing i've wondered.

To improve playing stregth, why don't programmers create internal books that go
as far as the furthest openign line, as identified by theory, and then add
another , say four super analyzed moves.

So, for example, let's say you have a variation in the roy lopez that goes 17
moves deep in opening book. You could seek to add 4 moves deep on this by using
the computer to very deeply analyze every variation (say evaluating to 22 ply)

So you could look at the moves that a someone is likely to make at move 18 (lets
say their are 3 such possibilities) and analyze the best possible response to
these, and then look at the likely response at move 19 and repeat the above,
till you get to move 21. (yes, this would take a long time, as you have to
calculate approximately 3 raised to 4 variations (81). But with computers, we
can just let them run and run till they give us what we want)

The idea is to take the best, deepest opening book, and deepen it by four
moves. This would save huge amount of processing time for later, and would
reduce weak middle game moves.
