after 9+ months of owning a 64 bit os, I am not connecting to the internet via broadband wireless connection .... history .... back last February , I upgraded to MS 64bit...back then I was on dialup ...there were no 64 bit modem drivers - solution - bestdata 56net -- uses the modem through ethernet , thus not os system dependent... during September, I went off dialup and went to broadband - again - no readily available 64 bit wireless adapters ...so since then, my machine 64 bit machine has been operating 32 bit mode ... a little bit frustating ...solution , a Dlink DWL G810 wireless gaming adapter - ethernet based, it again provides a wireless solution that is non OS dependant by acting as a network bridge ...a wirless gaming device provides the same functionality of a network bridge (that I need) ,but is generally less expensive than a wireless bridge - picked up a white box (refurbished model) for around $40...the only tricky part was that I have a Linksys router -- so I had to change the default ip address of the D-link gaming device to match the linksys router network if anybody needs more detail instructions, email me - I generally can down load 25MB per minute with this setup off the cable modem ... 64-bit regards, Michael
