AMD Athlon processor are much better in performance and wrt costs compared to
intel for chess purposes that is. For example Athlon 2.1 GHZ would outperformed
Intel Pentium 4's 3.2 GHz. Now, However, The Mobile Intel Pentium M is very good
for chess purposes but is very costy.
