Subject: Super Computer Tactical blunder

Author: Adnan

On USENET Robert Hyatt and the author of Ferret mentioned that they do not
think Deep Blue made a tactical blunder in game six of 96 match. I posted my
analysis but never heard any response from them.

So here is my analysis again. I hope they would point out where I am mistaken.

This is the position:

2rr2k1/pp1qnppp/2n1p3/3p4/1bPP3P/1P2RNP1/PB3P2/1BRQ2K1 w - - 0 20

Earlier I played 20. Bxh7+

But now look at this: 20 a3 Ba5 21.b4 Bc7

This was played by Kasparov. And now 22.Bxh7!+ Kh7 23.Ng5+ Kg8
24.Qh5 Qe8 25.Qh7+ Kf8 26.Qh8+ Ng8 27.Nh7+ Ke7 28.Qxg7

Black does not control e1 square now. In fact, 28... Rd7 is now not even
possible because of Rxe6! White is threatening Rce1 when black won't be able
to defend e6 with Rd6 because white would reply with c5. So 28... dxc4 is
forced. But now comes 29.Rce1

And white wins. If black plays 29...Rd6 then white has 30 d5! If black plays
29..Kd6 white still plays 30. d5! +-
