Eugene, I have no problems with the warnings, provide they can be turned off (which seems to be the case). In fact, the warnings are useful. My only concern is the terminology of the warnings. Instead of using the word "deprecated" which has a precise meaning in the C++ standard, a more general statement along the lines of, "...this is an unsafe function which we recommend you not use, etc. etc." Anyway, this is starting to stray into the realm of the pedantic and nitpicking. I believe Herb Sutter addressed this recently and it was an innocent mistake, (they certainly happen in my profession, and I'm guessing your's is no different). regards, --tom
