In http://www.icdchess.com/ccc/message.shtml?46886, Charles Unruh besmearched the good name of Robert Hyatt. To me, this is a personal attack. However, when Robert responded in kind (and I'm sure he had some choice unnecessary words in his post), his message was yanked. Now, I do not want to be the moderator police and I ESPECIALLY do not want to start another "Hey, the moderators caused another person to leave the forum" discussion, but to me, the moderators dropped the ball on this one. I think that the reason that the moderators did nothing on this is that while attacking Robert, Charles put multiple "IMHO" phrases in the post to make it seem less harsh. However, a personal attack is a personal attack. Now, in http://www.icdchess.com/ccc/message.shtml?47068, Robert Hyatt says that if his responses to such drivel are going to be yanked, then he does not want to be part of this group. THIS IS WRONG. I think that the moderators should yank Charles' post and every post below it that has Charles' original message in it (including mine). I was even surprised that my message was not yanked since it was probably the harshest response that first day to his message. Yanking messages for having one or more swear words in them but not yanking personal attacks is wrong. LETS GET THIS CORRECTED NOW. KarinsDad :| PS. This is not a moderator condemnation post. I think the moderators have gotten so much flake in the last few months that they are walking around on eggshells. This is wrong too. We voted in people who would eliminate this type of garbage and I, for one, want them to have the freedom to do the job they signed up to do.
