The timing of this situation was unfortunate. I became aware of the
original post right away, and I emailed the moderators suggesting
that they take a look at it, but it appears
that both Harold and Peter were away and Will was not aware of that
fact and thought it was being handled by them.

I believe now that Will is aware of the situation, he has (just
now) deleted the entire thread. I suppose that as long as the initial
message was not erased immediately, it is good that Bob and others
had an opportunity to respond. Now it is finished. The thread is gone.

The timing was also unfortunate because in the last few days, since Bob
bid farewell to rgcc, we have received the largest influx of new
members since the first month of CCC back in August of 1997. I think
Bob, although clearly troubled by the decision to leave rgcc, can
hold his head high knowing that so many have followed his path here
to CCC.

I think the moderators are truly dedicated to protecting individual
rights here and keeping the CCC safe from name-calling, insults,
trolls, and off topic discussion, but we are all human, and there
will be snafus and bumps and roadblocks along the way.

I am privy to the emailed conversations that go on among the moderators
about topics that affect CCC. They do not take this job lightly, and
considering what they are paid to do this (nothing), they all
deserve medals. Hopefully, the situation that occurred in the last
two days will not be repeated.

Less impotant issues...
We project that our one millionth CCC hit will occur sometime late
this summer, and if you have not voted in the latest poll, please do so.
There are always complaints about the poll questions, so we ask, as
always, for our members to submit questions AND possible answers so
that we do not have to do it!
