Being such a rare purchaser of chess software in general, and computer
chess programs in particular, since I like to tinker around with my own,
I am still glad I bought Rybka.

It does not seem to make tactically questionable moves just for active-play.

The last program I played like that that I owned as a Mephisto Mondial (think
that was the name), a very, very flat, touch-sensitive all-in-one unit that
Larry Kaufman gave me.

I learn a lot from playing those since their "quiet" style forces me to
do something. I also try Levy's "do-nothing but do it well" advice.
