Hi, folks, if we are in a engine Renaissance, then the changes next year could be amazing... It might be fun to make a few predictions and then repost them at the end of next year, and see who got it right? Here are my guesses of how strong engines will be, rank ordered based on next to no evidence. (the start elo based on cegt 2627; assumes single processor, 32 bit processor) 1. Rbyka 32 bit 2880 (+75 points) (or can this break 2900) 2. Fruit 2820 (+50 points) 3. Toga II.1 2808 (+50 points) tie for fourth 4. shredder 10 (+40 points 4. Fritz (maybe 20 points improvement, if any) And Zappa is the wild card. It could appear anywhere. Please reply your predictions if your interested! best Joseph
