Thanks for your concern Karinsdad, There's a rule in chess tournaments, if a player withdraws after 2 rounds the results he had do not count, but after that they do. Barlay withdrew after 4 rounds. As for USCF or computer pairing programs, I assume the USCF ruling is as above and I don't know about tournament pairing software. It's a pity, my game against Anderson was a real crush, so much so that another participated said "He got sick after that game and he will be sick all his life" LOL Anyway I'm planning to play in the Chicago Open coming up and at the end of June my first closed GM Tournament (in Australia). I'm hoping to get an IM norm, but hoping even more I don't get my butt kicked by everyone..:( I'll be using Chessbase to prepare (find games of my opponents), and if I have time maybe Bookup to drill some openings. regards, Michael Ginat On March 26, 1999 at 17:35:07, KarinsDad wrote: >Michael, > >How are you doing? > >I read the account of the Colorado Closed at the following site and had some >questions for you. > >http://www.cca-chess.org/colorado.htm > >I didn't really understand your earlier post (I was probably brain dead at the >time) as to what had happened, so I searched the net for the tournament. > >Here is my confusion.
