Hello Steve, Sorry,

My mistake, Rob was the author of the article on the chessrobot, in
Computerschaak of december 2001. The robot was real, the inventor is called Hans
Lammers. Rob will probably remember the article. Originally it was to be a
vacuumcleaning robot :) I don't know what it does when it loses, maybe it sucks
of all the pieces from the board, claiming there is a mistake in its old program
in the Karpow-routines, making it allergic to any dustparticles on h3.

It measured 70 cm by 50 cm on the floorplan and with a height of 1 m 10 without
extending its lifting arm, 30 kg in weight, you'd probably better move out of
the room when it activates any tantrum-subroutines! But maybe it was really very
civil, Rob writes it, she, was talking with the voice of Hans' wife Lucia and
could also recognize voicecommands of the owner, to things like "I need to go to
the toilet" she'd then say "Okay Steve, see you in a moment" and pause the game.
How about that!

 Eelco
