I guess you are thinking about all.epd and best7.epd. All.epd is EPD records composed from games between super GM players and top SSDF programs. The frequency of the move chosen is shown in parenthesis after the move choice. best7.epd is the same data, but filtered for only those moves where only one move was chosen and there are at a minimum of 7 chessmen on the board. http://cap.connx.com/EPD/best7.epd.bz2 http://cap.connx.com/EPD/all.epd.bz2 I made these test suites, and I don't know if any of the answers are right. I only know that players like Kasparov or Shredder thought they were a good idea.
