With the release of Fritz 9 Chessbase has finally managed to synchronize the version numbers of its main engines, Fritz, Shredder, Junior and Hiarcs. The first program to reach the magic number 10 is Hiarcs, and the others will probably follow next year. Unfortunately, Chess Tiger has already rushed ahead to version 15, so to keep things tidy we'll have to wait seven years for the next version. Mike :)
