I wasn't expecting to finish all 56 by Christmas. :) But I'll work on it, playing game in 30' between two computers really keeps you busy - I couldn't imagine legitimately playing a faster time control. >i assume the Novag Sapphire is the Sapphire I? Yes, that _is_ the Sapphire I. And the Emerald is just the Emerald Classic (not the Classic Plus). I wanted to mix it up a little more but from Fidelity all I have is an Elite A/S and a Excellence 3 MHz; not models I felt were strong enough to include with the top 3. Also, I wanted to games that would be most useful to the Schachcomputer Aktiv rating list as well as be interesting here. One thing I found really surprising, just downright shocking in fact! If you look at the SSDF full rating list, you'll find they never played the Atlanta against the Berlin Pro! This seems like such a natural matchup that I'm really surprised, especially for say, 1997. > >interesting in that White scored 3.5-4 > >my predicitons for the first 3 places: > >Star Diamond >Atlanta >Sapphire I > >2 of the top three spots to Novag > >Atlanta only drew so it needs to play flawlessly from here on in > I always liked the Lyon real well, I suppose that's because the follow-on Vancouver wasn't much of an improvement when it was released, but also Richard Lang was on such a roll. And the Sapphire is even today surprisingly strong for the little box it is. But as the operator I won't make any predictions - I'm so busy moving pieces, even doing just one game at a time that I'm not sure if it's my head or the chess boards that are spinning!
