I know that I have been accused of cheating before. I remember one time I
stayed up really late, and played blitz until about 5am in the morning... and
dropped about 300 points while I was at it :-). Well, the next time I logged
in, I had to start playing 1700s and 1800s to get my rating back up to the ICC
2000 area. So of course, I am smashing them left, right, and centre, and not
one, but two! of my opponents accused me of cheating. I told them my name, my
rating (21xx CFC), and that they could look it up at www.chess.ca if they had a
problem. Needless to say, they didn't want to play me any more, but the great
thing about internet chess is that there's always someone else around to play,
so in the end it doesn't really matter.
