My suggestion was based on the fact I have several machines, and each machine
runs both Fritz 9 and Hiarcs10 correctly except this one machine which has an
aging graphics card.  I have no doubt that my problems running both packages on
this m/c is down to the hardware and not a software problem, as the software
runs fine on the other machines which have mnore advanced graphic cards.

If you find another reason for the problem I would be interested to hear it.
