Mike, Your thoughtful help didn't work, but thanks for trying. Now, I have discovered that my Chessbase 9 database is also "zapped" ... the games and the pieces are invisible too! My Arena, ChessPartner and Shredder interfaces still work fine, so it appears that my new Hiarcs 10 Chessbase disk zaps all Chessbase products and *only* those! Huh??? Nice bug, Chessbase!
