I installed ShredderClassic for Linux to check out the demo. It is Java based
and works fine in my SuSE 10 distribution. Have not had any problems yet. Does
anyone know if there is a way to run analysis and save the output to a file?

A couple of comments. Stefan was the first to write a true Windows GUI for
Shredder while all the others were still running a DOS screen in Windows. Now
he is the first (of the commercial distributions) to offer his program on Linux.
I adopted Shredder way back when and eventually moved to ChessAssistant as my
main program (with the Shredder engine for analysis of course). I have not used
either of those programs since moving to Linux but now it looks like the process
will start over. If Deep Shredder 9 supports running an analysis session and
saving the output to a file, I will purchase it after the holidays. So far I
have not been able to determine if this feature is available. If not, I may
just buy it to support the Linux development.
