Go up one level in this thread
Hi Bruce All of that is real interesting, but for me I would rather follow your last bit of writing and jump up and down and become hysterical at the numbers. I have been told by many people that no matter what level of opponent you play as long as you win a certain percentage then you can work things out on that. Well CM6K has won a certain percentage against these lower rated opponents. And from some games played against the other top programs in equal hardware and grounds which have been posted here and where CM6K has won, I think people who say because CM6K played lower rated programs and that this result does not count or is not fair is pure rubbish. This is the way it is done, and this is the way I will accept it, until the people who say this result is wrong come up with a better way for the SSDF to get their rankings. In the past I have called the SSDF rubbish for how they play their games, but I have heard from the best that the rankings, while their maybe small errors are pretty well accurate. I have never questions their rankings, but I have questioned their non show of some programs, and still no Rebel 10. So I am pretty happy that now people will at least have to come to the terms that CM6K is one of the very best chess engine out their. Now all we need of for Bob Hyatt to make a freeware engine that can beat the lot of them, and then we will see how many people get upset that a freeware engine is the best. well maybe one day bob it will happen. no one picked Hiarcs7 to top the rankings, and no one picked CM6K to either.
