I will be intersted to hear that now that a cheap program like CM6K can top the list against the other top programs, which can cost up to five times the price of CM6K, what this affect will have on other programs. Will there be another Rebel 10 episode where chess program makers will have to drop prices in order to compete with products like CM6K that are nearly half or three times cheaper and can play as good as or better than some of the more high priced opponents. I think this result for Mindscape will be a huge boost for sales, because it can now claim to be the best commercial chess product on the market. Just as programs like Fritz and Hiarcs have done before to advertise their product. I think this will give the computer chess world a shake up big time. cause for most people who want to play a game of chess on their computer, and play a good one at that, they will go for CM6K. the main reason for this is that at is most major shopping stores where I live you will see CM6K with all the other software and in just about every computer software store. And the only thing is has to compete against is crappy chess software But if I wanted to get Frtiz or Rebel or Hiarcs, or any other of the top programs, I have to go to my local chess store, which where I live is only one for the big city of Sydney, Australia, and buy it there or have to order it. So Mindscape is now in a position to give a killer blow to its opposition products, so I do think this result will affect computer chess in a big way.
