Others have mentioned GUIs that accept the UCI protocol for running Rybka, such as the free Arena: http://www.playwitharena.com/ Personally I found the complicated list of possible Arena downloads difficult to understand, and the GUI somewhat difficult to learn, for a newbie. I suggest one of their 1.1 version downloads. If you get stuck you can ask questions on their forum at: http://f22.parsimony.net/forum41668/ However that one is not suitable for correspondence chess players because it doesn't have a "Replace" operation. Any of the later "Fritz" GUIs that come with Chessbase software titles support the UCI protocol: Fritz 7-8-9, Shredder 7-8-9, Junior 8-9, etc. You can buy those titles many places. If you don't have a DVD drive, you'll have to get one of the older titles (versions 7 or 8), because they have quit supplying software on CDs within the last year or so. Another one is the Shredder Classic GUI, and you can get a free trial version here: http://www.shredderchess.com/chess-download/free-demo-download/download-shredder-classic-windows.html I recommend getting the latest version of this GUI, especially if you're a correspondence chess player, because the "Replace" operation was buggy in earlier versions when using PGN database files. There are other possible GUIs too. These early versions of Rybka may not work right in all of them, but should within a couple of months. WP
