Hi, oh boy. Things like that happen apparently on both sides of the pond. It must have been in the early 90s, a time when I was a tad stronger than now. My opponent was 10 years younger than me... but it was quite clear that playing at the first board, although being ten years younger, he couldn't be fish food... and indeed, it was rather me who was in danger to get wiped out. But unlike you, Steve, I've been lucky and managed to escape into a draw with the white pieces.
