We met a couple of months ago again with the difference that he was playing someone stronger... Well, I don't think there is a reason to be impressed. Here in Europe the real chess players are in a quite dense area, so chances are that you can meet them in real life. In our team we have a strong female player writing sometimes for ChessBase: https://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=503 She obviously knows many of the world class players in person very well (and they know her). I think they know her all, maybe all except Kasparov. So for example when we had a gm tournament two or three years ago, here in Essen, I had the opportunity to have a dinner together with her and Vadim Zvaginsjev. Of course with guys like him you don't talk about chess. It's simply a completely different world, their chess and the game I call chess... ;) Fish Food Fertiliser Regards, Martin
