As an 1800 or so player, I would really like a program to play at a consistent 1800 level against me, in a way that an 1800 human would play. Fritz does not seem to be so good at this. If you set it to play at 1800, it will play like a 1200 drunk until you start winning and then will play like a 2700 gm. What program would you folks recommend as a training partner? How is hiarcs? ( i am looking for an excuse to buy , given hiarcs looks almost as strong as fritz 9) The key features are: It plays consistently at a certain level Its moves and mistakes are like what you would see from an 1800 (or whatever rated) human best Joseph
