Ferret is a real world-beater written by Bruce Moreland (a frequent contributor
here and very helpful). It has recently clubbed GM's at decent time controls.
Despite eons of grovelling and pleading, there are no commercial versions of
Ferret available.

I think Bruce plans to torture us until we are willing to spend anything he
asks, including our firstborn, and then release it. Of course, he might prove
me wrong by releasing a reasonably priced commercial version soon. Maybe even
one that is winboard compatible - hint, hint.
